Life's a journey..... this is mine.... |
When I first started this BLOG a year ago, I was turning over a new leaf in my life. Since then, several more have been turned - it is rather an ongoing process, leaving demons behind and moving forward with life. Join me on this, my journey through life - warts n' all ![]() You will meet lots of RL characters in this BLOG, for I tend to write about people in my life, my loved ones and those who care about me. The main star is and will always be my daughter, Nathalie, my pride and joy, my raison-d'etre. She fills my heart with love and my life with sunshine and laughter. A co-starring role is held by my hubby, Neil, who puts up with me and is simply wonderful, my family and friends who are spread all around Europe and the US. A special Thank You at this juncture also to my Chemo Buddy, Tatum, for being my guardian angel and my very special friend. I now have a new Chemo Buddy called Isabel - joining the chemoangels program is the most amazing thing I have ever done, besides giving birth to my daughter. You would not believe how rewarding it is - I often think I am getting a whole lot more out of the deal than my buddies; it is so great to give, to bring a smile to someone's face, to make a difference! If you are interested in joining the scheme please check out www.chemoangels.com Hopefully you will also get to know me a little bit better by reading this BLOG, or perhaps just give you a good old laugh at some of the silly things I get up to. Who knows, from time to time you may even find little nuggets of wisdom in here... ![]() Happy reading! ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
HEYYY-HO! Wow, I am finishing my philosophy assignment oh joy of joys, can't WAIT to see the back of it!!! I was going to tell you here ->> xxx <<- what I am writing about but I can't be bothered!! I never, EVER, want to do anything to do with Philosophy again, it is to me the most incredibly pointless exercise, EVER. Ok, I will finish sounding like a spoilt teenager on drugs and suffering with sleep deprivation now!! ![]() Neil is here this weekend and we have had a lovely time. Yesterday we went to the photographer's to have some family portraits taken but I must have noted the appointment down wrongly coz we missed it! It has now been rescheduled for 3 weeks' time. Afterwards, we went to get me a bicycle so I can start doing these short treks by bike (e.g. to lectures, occasionally (if I am not running late!) to work, and for doing small "emergency" shopping trips e.g. run out of milk!) and also to try and get fit again! I seem to be spending most of my time on my arse, working away at my Master's and don't have ANY time for exercise! Neil and Nat have just gone to the car wash to wash and vacuum my car, and then he's taking Nat to my parents' to practice riding her bike. It would be so lovely to start going to cycle trips together! ![]() Anyway, need to get back to my assignment. Oh, and we start back at lectures tomorrow, albeit for the first 2 weeks I've only got the 2 electives that I am taking in Denmark as their semester schedule runs differently from the German ones. Our mandatory courses start mid-September. ![]() Have a great week everyone! Anne ![]() |
I am so desperate to make some progress with my philosophy assignment but it is incredibly distracting to have an extra puppy in the house, he isn't house trained and barks A LOT!!! And if he isn't barking or messing up my carpets, he is playing with Oscar which is all fine & well but they, too, get noisy and I have to make sure they are not breaking / chewing stuff!! Today my canine visitor peed on the front seat of my BMW... I cried, I tell you! I will need to get it professionally cleaned at the weekend, for now I have scrubbed & scrubbed, hope it won't smell too bad! Anyway, I am off to bed!! Please check out www.myspace.com/toribeaumont you will see a link for the first released "single" of Tori's which is an acoustic version of Whisper You Love Me which is a stunning ballad, and good value at approx $1.50USD / 0.75GBP ![]() |
I am not really making any inroads in my philosophy assignment. I am really struggling to get fired up about it even though I got A++ for my last exam (European Regional Innovation Policy) so I ought to feel motivated. Someone once said that I am like a carpenter; I need tools that I can see the use of and put into my tool box for later use. I have NO CLUE what I am supposed to use Philosophy for at a later date so it's a bit like a used teabag with a furry blue handle and two bolts... WHAT THE F&%K¤ is it??? HOW DO I USE IT??? WHAT'S THE POINT??? aarrrgghhhhh...... |
So much to tell.... busy life..... will post wedding pics here later today. If you are a friend on My Space, check them out: www.myspace.com/annechiles go to Pics > Wedding Pics... on a "friends only" viewing basis, so you will need to add me as a friend before you can view them ![]() huggles xo |
We got back from Florida on Monday afternoon and in the past 4 days I've slept a total of 8.5 hours. I am so tired, and really struggling to get on top of the jet-lag. Neil and I went to Islamorada in the Florida Keys for 10 days. On Sunday 29 July we drove to Key West and were married at a small, intimate and very romantic ceremony at Smather's Beach. The rest of our stay was thus our honeymoon. The hotel was fantastic and we had a great room with view over the Atlantic. I went on a Dolphin Splash experience which, apart from the wedding, was the highlight for me. The rest of the time we spent by the pool, relaxing and sipping pina coladas. It was the best holiday ever. We are awaiting the arrival of the official wedding pictures, they should get here late this week. On my My Space profile I have posted a couple of pics taken at the restaurant where we dined afterwards - www.myspace.com/annechiles I've gotta disappear again, I am at work and need to catch up on the back-log. We also need to work out what to do now the marriage certificate has arrived stating that Neil is from the Ukraine, not the UK..... ![]() Hugs & smiles to you all! Anne xo |
Hi guys quick update: my exam on Friday went well, I think. I should find out my grade today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I am busy packing for our Florida holiday, I am so excited ![]() I will probably not be able to check in again before we go away so I hope you all have a fabulous couple of weeks! And I hope the weather improves (UK & Northern Europe)... Hugs! Anne ![]() |
.... to say, "this is a quick update" but I am soooo busy with revision for tomorrow's oral exam! Just wanted to tell you that I got an A+ for my economics paper and exam ![]() am off for lunch & more revision! Have a fab day everyone! *happy bunny* |
ANOTHER quick update; it is all I have time for these days, I am afraid. On Friday I had my oral economics exam and I think it went well. We should get the grade in the next couple of days. On Thursday I have my last exam, oral European Regional Innovation Policy. I still have a lot of preparation to do, and it is not easy as Nathalie is now on summer break and wants to do stuff all the time, as I do! Luckily my mum is also on "forced vacation" so she looks after Nat during the day while I go to the office. It is just 9 days now til Neil and I go to Florida and I SO can't wait!! It is just a shame that Nat won't be there. My chemo buddy has graduated from the chemo program which means she has finished her chemo and associated treatments, she is now recovering, the tests showed no new tumours so it is wonderful news. I am scaling down the frequency and numbers of letters etc but am also preparing a "graduation parcel" for her. I am having a Christmas deco in the shape of an angel engraved for her which she can keep forever, to remind her of everything that happened. I am at work and covering for the boss who's on holiday so I'd better disappear and get some work done. Have a great week everyone! Anne ![]() |
I am working on a group assignment which is due to be handed in on Wednesday so I am really busy ![]() The economics exam, btw, is on Friday 13th... Unlucky for some.... ![]() |
I handed in my economics assignment on Sunday evening (email format) and Monday morning (hard copy format). Now my group and I are working hard on finishing our European Regional Innovation Policy (RIP) assignment which is due on Wednesday. Then, Friday 13th July: oral exam (economics) and 19 July: oral exam (RIP), then lectures on Monday 23 & Wed 25th and THAT'S IT FOR THE TERM.... well.... sort of, Between 19 and 25 July I am going to try and complete my Law & Revolution assignment so that I then only have to complete my Philosophy assignment when Neil & I get back from our holiday in Florida. I have postponed the European Governance seminar til 4th semester as I am completely run down & cannot fit in the block seminars around Nat being off school at the same time. Nat and I are going to an open air concert this evening in Hamburg with Roger Cicero. Neil's flying into Ham this evening & we're all meeting up at a local hotel, we are going sight seeing / shopping tomorrow in Hamburg, to unwind. First I have a zillion things to do before I leave work so I'd better dash ![]() Have a fab weekend everyone! ![]() |
