Writing, Detached

Prompt: Joy how asked how can writers be writers if they are detached from the world?

Easy. I write fiction like romance, unicorn stories, Jane Austen type and my husband is home now due to hand surgery. He watches the news and I try not to. Just enough to know what crap is going on. I do write blog entries but I don't get unto writing about news. I like writing fiction and not the real world. So, I can be detached from the world and write some good items. Journalists, doctors, scientists write about what they study and do research on and that works for them. I like making up my own stories and my world. This gives me comfort. Detached from the world? I know more then I care to about politics and that V word! Back to my fantasy world to write about happy things!
