New Normal

We have been reborn!
"We sense that ‘normal’ isn’t coming back, that we are being born into a new normal: a new kind of society, a new relationship to the earth, a new experience of being human." ~ 12

We are babies
pushed naked and squalling
into a bright
mew world.

We can't go back--
before the COVID-19 pandemic,
before the social distancing,
before the stay in place quarantines--
anymore than we can crawl
back into our mother's wombs.

We must move forward
into this new normal,
into this new reality,
while praying for the best.
