Mice in Literature

My favorite mouse,
One of the best in literature
Uses a rapier and
Stands tall against all
Enemies, bringing honor
To friend and foe alike.
Reepicheep of Narnia,
A lion among mice, has a
Place so high that all other mice
Suffer in comparison.

More earth-bound
Examples exist.
Mrs. Frisby's cat and
Owl filled ride among the
Rats of Nymh
Inspires my awe in another
Exhilarating rodent filled adventure,
Surpassing many.

Mouse kind has its heroes.
Unfortunately, here, in
Carroll's Wonderland,
His Dormouse rather fails–
No hero here. His version of
Excitement consists of
Sleeping in a teapot.
Silliness abounds.
