a long time ago
Too busy to notice
you kicked me when I was down

My spirit was a different story
those years ago
Too self-absorbed to notice
you underestimated me

My resolve wasn't fully tested
some three years ago
Your selfish disregard for others
a footnote to meaningless babble

My faith was restored
quite recently in full
I left you behind
not needed, your praise

There is light and truth
as revealed in a missive
what you are doing shines through
it's sad, but not for me....
