Each hour
On the hour
Ancient gods come to life

The white marble dome
Echoing with the thunder of creation
Reflect the lightning of life

The statues move
The statues talk
Play music on lyres of light

The constellations dance
The nebulae cavort
The gods of ancient Rome celebrate

Light flows across the marble dome
In joyous abandon
Pastels of rainbows mate

Faces from the myths
Forms of ancient legends
Are created in laser light

Capricorn appears
Swims round the dome
Then melts into a swirl of stars

Smoke
Caresses laser light
Spectrum bright

Momentarily
Christian and pagan myths
Merge revealing

Pan's
Or is it Satan's face
In the center of the dome

The hoofed god
Capers around the dome
His pipes in his mouth

Blue
Red laser light
Outlines form from myth and legend

Statues return
To their original positions
The audience applauds

I wrote this sometime in 149 B.E. The inspiration a visit to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mom and I went specifically to see the Light Show.
