| Monolith I hauled the bounty that fed the nation’s growth. I struggled across this land carrying a burden of dreams. I carried soldiers, rations, bullets, and freedom on my back during war. I carried husbands, wives, and children of all races, of all religions, into a land of promise. Now I sit, my brawny frame rusted, my strength dissipated by time, by neglect. “A rusted memory,” I’ve heard. No! A reminder of our greatness, a memorial of our journey to today!
