| Round and Round Have you been haunted by a tune that got stuck in your head? It wraps your mind in a cocoon ‘til other thoughts are dead. It was that kid’s song, “A, B, C…” about the alphabet, you know – that ends in “X,Y,Z” that no one can forget. Where it came from, I do not know; it suddenly appeared. It won’t release me from its flow which I find just plain weird! To break this spell – it sounds bizarre - replace it – so they claim. I picked a twinkling little star. It turns out they’re the same! I’d tell you more but I must quit ‘cause I can’t concentrate. That silly tune, I will admit, has me in a checkmate. An entry for the April 10th round of "The Daily Poem " Prompt: Write a poem which includes every letter of the alphabet at least once.. Poetry Form: Quatrain written in Common Meter Line Count: 20 |
