Poets And Social Change

Joy asked if poets can bring about social change.

I don't know. As a writer, I enjoy poetry and writers seem to be in a class among themselves which is a good thing. Poets are usually quiet and some say strange. People love music and songs rhyme, so I guess there can be social change in people when it comes to music. That way out Rock music in this day and age, that is scary. Guess I am getting old. I like my life quiet. I believe in laughing and having fun but I have my quiet side. I don't see my friends much. When I do, we have fun. I always wanted to go to one of those places where poets read poetry. There I could be more social. I think writers and poets are more social with each other then other people. I know I am.
