October 2nd Required Assignment

AKA Dramatis Personae. Draft a list of your characters and write a brief profile on each one (name, age, occupation or relation to main character(s) and rough physical description.) NOTE: You will have opportunities to revise the list throughout October, so this revision is not expected to be fully accurate or complete.

Leigh Chastity Baker - age 17, main character, lab assistant, doctor wannabe and librarian. Stands at 5' 5" with long brown hair, hazel eyes with flecks of green and slim but curvy figure. Wears most often a pale blue dress with a white apron covering it and googles to cover her eyes from chemicals, steam, and bodily fluids. Brown leather work gloves are worn when in the lab as well. When not in the lab, she dresses in librarian garb, a ruffled green skirt, hiked at the thighs with long brown stockings, and a cream colored sleeveless blouse. A brown leather belt adorns her waist with two buckles.
Cornelius Cyrus Baker - age 40, Leigh's father, creator of the clockwork pets, and Emy. He's about 5'10" with messy brown hair covered by inventor's goggles and brown eyes that make his pallor seem somewhat pale in comparison to his daughter. He's not pasty white but more of a light pink skinned color. He's stocky and wears a common doctor's garb of black trousers, plain white shirt, and brown leather belt covered by a greasy, stained apron that was once white.
Violet Tabitha Baker - age 30, Leigh's stepmother, married Cornelius for his name. Is a homemaker, which she aspires to have Leigh be as well. Arranges for various suitors to court her stepdaughter. Is also having an affair with Damien Drakkon. With long black hair, deep chocolate colored eyes, and a slim figure, she's considered quite a catch. Her outfits include expensive gowns with black lace petticoats and all sorts of colored corsets placed over a white lacy blouse.
Emerald Clockwork Cat - age 5, Leigh's beloved cat. Was run over at the age of 3 and franskensteined back together by Cornelius. She's a sleek brown calico cat, with a visible cut through the chest cavity. A see through, unbreakable glass shows a half clockwork half biological heart. The heart works perfectly and pumps blood not oil like the other clockwork pets. The rest of Emy's organs are also part clockwork, and powered by a tiny steam engine hidden inside the body cavity. This is why she is so coveted, because she works with clockwork and steam but still pumps blood. She's sentient as any cat, also different from the other clockwork pets, and is wanted for dissection and study by almost everyone, especially the military that commissions Damien Drakkon to obtain her.
Phineas Hal Drakkon - age 20, Damien's son and Leigh's most persistent suitor. Standing at 6' he is black haired, blue eyed, and handsome in the face. His body is young and strong and muscular. Still he has no ambition to be anybody, living off of his father's fame and creating quite a stir in society. Courts Leigh for her looks and name, pretends to care about her ambition to be a doctor.
Damien Drakkon - age 30, Drakkon is the antagonist and the traitor of the story. He stands at 6' 2" with black hair and dark coal eyes, He's always dressed to the nines, wearing black trousers, white ruffled shirt and expensive black belt. When in the lab he covers this up by brown overalls and a white crisp apron that is always clean and pressed. Ambition is to obtain Cornelius' technological breakthrough Emy and turn her inner workings into an army of military men. So far, he's only been able to create pure clockwork men, that wind down. When he discovers Leigh's secret, he plans to dissect her for the study and recreation of the heart for his army men.
Gabe Aaron Forger - age 22, Drakkon's lab assistant, stands at about 6' 1" with sandy blonde hair, green eyes, and muscular face. His body is thin, but strong. He wears lab assistant gear, googles, coveralls, lab jacket and apron over plain brown trousers, brown work belt and light green dress shirt most of the time. Doesn't see how Leigh could be interested in him. He is easily manipulated by Drakkon in the beginning. As a very loyal assistant, Gabe feels his personal feelings about his employers job and work is not his business.
Isabella Temperance Daring - age 18, Leigh's best friend and only other confidant, she stands at 5' 4" with short red hair, topped by a brown top hat and dressed in various corsets of second hand condition, The white blouse she wears has turned off white from use and her skirts usually have some loose threads. Her petticoats are again off white from use. She's from a family that's fallen on hard times and she works as a servant in the Drakkon household. Her maids white apron is the only crisp new piece of clothing she owns and spectacles hang around her neck for seeing.
