Identify the theme or moral of the story. Brainstorm ways you could resolve your conflict within the confines of the theme. The theme of this story is never to accept the truth at face value. There are always layers of the truth, and things are not always what they seem. This is true of Leigh's perception of her father, whom she idolizes. She will learn in the story that her father has not always followed the ethical code of doctor's and has had ulterior motives in the past. Gabe will learn that he cannot always trust his eyes and learn to trust his instincts in the long run. Gabe always gets the feeling that Leigh likes him, but he doesn't accept that as truth because of watching her go out with Phineas. He thinks her in love with him and that she's playing with him. This leads to Gabe giving up Leigh's secret to Drakkon. Drakkon convinces Gabe that he only want to save peoples lives, fooling the young man into trusting him. Meanwhile, Drakkon uses Gabe's ability as well as his trust in the ultimate betrayal. In the end, they will both have to lose their innocence and grow up together, learning to trust only each other during the ultimate showdown between the machine men and themselves. This showdown will happen after an explosion and a life saving operation performed by Leigh on Gabe. Serenity to you and yours!
