I am the girl in the mirror
I am the girl in the mask
I am the girl no one ever sees
I am the ghost of the past

I do not let them know me
I will not let them in
I show them where I'm going
Never where I've been

When they see me I am happy
I do not show my rage
I disguise it with a smiling face
I lock it in this cage

But when I know I am alone
I come out into the light
Let my true feelings come alive
Watch them fade into the night

And when the sun lights up the sky
My resolve restored
I must hide myself again
