Writing, Reading Influences

Prompt: When you are writing, do you find yourself influenced by what you are reading at the time?

Yes. If I am reading a Danielle Steel novel, I get my writing ideas from her. The same with a paranormal romance, I want to write one of my own. A Jane Austen sequel, I write stories based on Jane Austen more then I do any stories anymore.

I read angel stories or devotions but I am not very good at writing religious items but I would like to be.

TV Shows influence by writing a lot. I get ideas from TV Shows because I see them played out and think I can write stories like that. Lately, I haven't written much but I hope to again.
