Sadness


Sadness slips in
Skirts around and hovers
It hangs in a cloud above my head
Dropping its tears only on me

It blocks the sun
Persists in its plight
And leaves me torn and weak
I stand soaked and miserable

When will it move off?
Leave me to flourish
And find my way back
To happiness and contentment.
