Pumpkin

Prompt: You are a pumpkin sitting on the porch. What sights do you see? What are your thoughts?

I see neighbor kids riding their bikes. The neighbor guy just put up a scare crow. The scarecrow waves to me and I can't wave back. Here comes that sweet little black cat. It lays by me and now is flexing his claws on me. "Go away kid. You bother me! I thought the kitty was sweet." It is raining. Guess I can handle it. The leaves look so pretty. There are some orange ones. They look like my color.

It is Halloween. I see kids dressed in weird costumes. They go door to door getting candy. It gets quiet and now it is midnight. Halloween. I am able to move. I go to a party at a haunted house and dance with a beautiful white pumpkin. My time is short but I am going to enjoy myself and live for the moment. I am dancing to a song by "The Smashing Pumpkins." This feels right.
