Late on the news...

I found out today about http://www.pottermore.com. I'm sure I must be the last one to know because I heard it this evening on the national news. I signed up on the site to receive emails letting me know when it is to be up and running...sometime, in October supposedly. It sounds very exciting to me as a big Harry Potter fan. Here is Rowlings' press release...http://www.youtube.com/jkrowlingannounces. I have missed Harry. I have all the books, ordered months in advance of their publishing date. Of course, the one I enjoyed least was the last one because...duh...it was the last one. Can't wait to see what J K has to offer us.

I check the Dover Post website (Delaware) everyday because that is where I grew up. Today, I was reminded the State Fair will be in Harrington soon...my real hometown. The Fair is always the last week in July, normally the hottest, driest, dustiest week of summer, but what do kids care. It was always the highlight of summer vacation when I was growing up. I can smell those french fries with vinegar now...yumyum. I wonder why it was so much fun to be slung around on the octopus and pinched by the bar on my legs in the whirlybird? And there were fireworks everynight at 10 sharp. Oh to be at the Fair again. Somehow, the one held here in Alachua County never held the same appeal. Do kids still like to go to the Fair?
