Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Jim fell this morning. I shouldn't say "fell", it was more like collapse. He was using his walker and got within two feet of the bed when his strength just seemed to evaporate. I heard him and got behind him so that he sort of slid down me and didn't bump anything or tear skin. He had to rest on the floor a while until finally between the two of us he was able to get back to bed. By then, his blood sugar had dropped from all the exertion and I had to hurry and get him a little piece of candy to keep it from dropping more. So that's how our day started...not fun. But now he is feeling as good as he ever does. I think he must have stood up and taken off too quickly and his blood pressure dropped. I was too "excited" to check at the time. This has happened a couple of times before. Tomorrow, coincidentally, he is scheduled for his semi-annual physical. His doc will get an earful. And he is scheduled for physical therapy after that....hmmmm. I heard on the news the other night the post office is in debt some huge amount...I forget how much. I'm not good with those big numbers anyway. I can't help but wonder why. The only mail I get is junk mail. I think the post office should just close. With the internet and electronic payments and email, what do we need the post office for anyway? Could that be why they are in the red?....duh? Snail mail just fills up my trashcan...and think how many trees we could save! Why did it convert to a private industry anyway....to make a profit, right?...Okay. And then there was the other little item on the news about how much gold we have in Ft. Knox and how it would only take sixty days for our government to spend it.....all of it! I have to quit watching the news. I really don't want to know all this stuff..... until next time....c |
