Day to day stuff....a memoir without order.

Tired out tonight....
Today Jim had his regular monthly labwork, and he had his blood pressure checked to see how his new medicine is doing. It has improved some, enough to keep the dose the same, his doc said. PT is still on hold for a while though.

After that was all out of the way, we went by the semi-annual library booksale. It has been going on since Saturday, today being the last day and ten cent day to boot...meaning everything is ten cents...lol. After several detours for roadwork being done on Main Street, I parked beneath a shade tree so Jim would be a little cooler. He insisted on waiting for me since a wheelchair in a warehouse full of ten cent books was not an appealing picture to him...me either if truth be known.

As expected, when inside, everyone had that desperate look that said "How many of these ten cent books can I tote to my vehicle without keeling over from a heart attack?" On the last day people are all business...no fooling around. First, I looked for some dvd's for Jim but not even one was left lurking unclaimed. I found a couple of good, fairly new vhs tapes (Snow Falling on the Cedars was one...can't remember the other just now). And I got several hardback books of familiar authors in pristine condition. Well worth the quick stop on the way home.

As soon as I got into the truck and started home, the sky blackened all over very suddently and a violent thunderstorm came up. I'm not saying we didn't need the rain (it hasn't rained since March 28th), just not in bucketfuls. But looking on the bright side, the truck got a bath which it desperately needed and my tomatoes got a good drenching...so there's that silver lining. It did take a while to get home though, and it was a little scary and stressful. That's probably one reason I'm so tired tonight.

But I feel better after journaling, lighter somehow. Writing down my thoughts does that sometimes. It's like when you want to remember something and you write it down and then you can forget about it...a good feeling....

until next time....c
