| Janie’s Joy Janie jumped with unlimited pleasure When she came upon a great treasure. The treasure of freedom she sought Many a battle she faced and fought. Since childhood she had ever been Under the thumb of someone. Parents, cousins or teachers Dominated her feelings Repressed her thoughts. She grew up and made her way Into the wide world one fine day. Intelligent and sensitive she was, Yet, unable to counter malice. There was a young man she met Who showed her how to play it straight Nothing hurts if you know what you want Things will work well with a sincere effort. Now, with her secret to happiness She decided to work towards Founding a children’s home, to let The kids grow without fear or fuss. With a dream to materialize She like a happy child Frolicked and jumped In her new found bliss Light as a butterfly, rich With colorful wings Poised today for a joyful Tomorrow, the cars on the road Pose no problem for her dance For, like a blossom pretty and pink, She flew on the ethereal breeze |
