Day to day stuff....a memoir without order.

A beautiful Sunday....
Jim is out on the riding mower cutting grass. Yes, I know it's a little early and it is wet from the morning fog, but he was anxious to get started. The cut grass smells so good, like sweet green hay. Later I will have to trim with the push mower.

In the meantime, I am trying to get motivated to start on my taxes...ugh. Since today is the third and time is dwindling, I must. I have all my forms, everything together in one folder, and no excuses left...but blog first...*Smile*.

I finished a book last night, The Wife's Tale by Lori Lansens. It was just a blind pick up at the library, Friday. Now I know why some people get so upset at the way a story ends. I always thought endings that were left to the reader's imagination were thoughtful and interesting, and I have written several stories like that myself. Never again. This book had such an abrupt ending with absolutely nothing resolved, I felt cheated, bigtime, for the time I had invested in it. I never had that happen before in all my years of reading. Lori Lansens is crossed off my list forever. I had a notice this morning to pick up But Not For Long by Michelle Wildgen...hope it's better*Reading*.

I finally turned in my last assignment for the Cache Class. I couldn't stand to read it anymore. You can edit just so long, then you have to give it up...*Rolleyes*

We rode up to the fruit and vegetable market near Alachua yesterday and loaded up...cukes, zuchinni, tangerines, apples, tomatoes, and a couple lemons for my hot tea...hmmm. I already have a cantaloupe and Barlett pears. Pears must be ripe now...they are cheap...er, that is. We eat lots of fruit.

I think my neighbor across the street (the one who never takes in his trash can) is moving. He is so lazy. He comes out with his trash in hand, gets in his car, backs out to the end of the driveway, gets out and put his trash into the can. He even gets his mail this way, driving one wheel up on the curb to reach into the box. He has to be the ultimate couch potato...what a gut! I saw a truck with "moving and storage" on the side in his driveway a couple of days ago...and none too soon. He rents. His only redeeming quality is that he has a cat...*Wink*. Maybe I won't have to look at his trash can too much longer....*Smile*.

On to the taxes....

until next time....c
