Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
It has been raining for days but this afternoon the sun finally came out. My tomato plants look like Jack's beanstalk...growing like weeds in all this heavenly h2o...can't complain there. We went to Jim's pt, as usual, this afternoon. He is progressing, but slowly. Danny, his pt person, is very good about encouraging him and emphasiing his progress. I am thankful. I don't want him to give up. Another man, who has been there everytime we have gone, was told not to come back. I was surprised because I thought he was getting along satisfactorily. I 'overheard' his therapist telling him he was too fearful of putting weight on his injured ankle, and he had to get over that fear to progress any further. He suggested he try hypnotic analiysis. In a previous conversation with the fellow, he told me how he was injured...a real fluke. He was sitting on his motorcycle, waiting for a traffic light, when the pickup in front of him drifted backwards and hit him...eeek. He said he had all kinds of pins in his ankle...think I'd be a little scared, too. I hope he gets over it...seemed like a nice guy. I have been working and working on my final lesson for the Cache Class. We had peer reviews of our first draft, and for the final lesson, we are to make suggested improvements and turn in our final draft. I don't think I will ever be finished. Everytime I reread, I find something I want to change. I can't seem to get it to the point where I feel it is ready to be turned in. This is a new experience for me. Usually, I write a story and think it's great the first time...until I start getting reviewed... ![]() ![]() My neighbor is still hanging in there...no baby yet...but she is definitely ready and due in a few more days. Did I ever mention Jim has three sisters (one set of twins) born on April 1st. Wow, if that had ever happened to me, I wouldn't know what to think. I wonder what his mom thought. She is no longer with us, and I never got up the nerve to ask her. Some April Fool's Day joke. Not fun for the kids either... until next time...c |
