Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
For all you people up north, the robins are on the move! He (or she) was the very first thing I saw as I gazed out my back door after getting up this morning. What a cheery site with his fat little reddish breast hop hop hopping all over the yard trying to stir up some fat juicy worms for breakfast. I just realized I do not know what sound a robin makes, if any. Isn't that strange? It is probably because they stay in my area such a short period of time. I just happen to be in their path of migration north or south depending on whether it is spring or fall. I do not think I have ever heard any sound come from them but they are so unmistakeable in their appearance and their hopping along from one spot to another. And a very very welcome sight indeed! I made a most miraculous saucepot of spaghetti and meatballs today and, of course, I overate. It was just too good, plus I only make it about three times a year...it takes so long. I have plenty to freeze for more meals, and it gets better with age. Undoubtedly, I have an Italian ancestor somewhere down the line...I love all things Italian. I just finished a mystery by Nancy Pickard, The Virgin of Small Plains...a very enjoyable read. She is a very adept author of multiple protagonists, which I especially like in a murder mystery. Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. I have another by her waiting in the shadows but need more free time, a problem for all of us. Luckily, books do not age and die or get sick...they are always there, waiting. I received an email yesterday with an extremely nice review from Happy Spring ![]() ![]() until next time...c |
