Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
and everything is all put away for another year. I wonder if next year I will be able to climb that ladder to get things down from that top shelf? It gets a little harder each time I use it. I may have to find a new storage place. Or train Mopsy better...lol. The library reopened today and it was overflowing with people and books to shelve. It reminded me of when I worked. Vacations were hardly worth it because the work just kept piling up until you returned. I was a bookkeeper for most of my working years (that explains my lack of imagination) for a large property management company. I spent most of my time off worrying about all I would have to do when I got back to work....no fun at all. The holidays that fell at the end of the month (or year) were the absolute worst...think paydays and end of month (or year) closing the books. Yuck, I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. Anyway, I picked up several movies for Jim and another couple of mysteries for me...I'm on a mystery binge now. I never have tried that genre but it is sounding more and more interesting to me. The mystery newsletter is helping, too. And Edgar Allen Poe was always my favorite. It's almost white rose time...are they still doing that? Erica called today and said all the snow in Delaware has melted, and she was enjoying wearing a short sleeve shirt for a change. She has a kitty named Oliver and he actually said "hello" to me on the phone. Okay, be skeptical if you want to...but he did! There is a poem in my port titled "Mopsy and Oliver", the very first poem I ever wrote in my life. I kept Oliver for Erica for about six months when she lived in an apartment that would not accept pets. When she moved back to Delaware, that sweet little kitty rode 900 and some miles in a pet carrier, only stopping overnight once and a few times during the day. What a trooper! until next time....c |
