Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
That must have been the last song I heard...it keeps going through my head. My Jim got a jury summons...yikes! I've already sent a letter requesting an exemption because of his health. It would be an extreme hardship, if not impossible, for him to serve on a jury. He's legally blind, diabetic, confined to a wheelchair (outside of home), and has an ileostomy. Hopefully, we will hear something before he is to appear on 1/19/11... I did not know it, but if you are over seventy, you have an automatic exemption. We have a few more years to go. I always liked serving but as Jim's caregiver, if I am called, I would need to be excused as well. Hopefully, that won't happen. I am all ready for Christmas, shopping done, decorations up, cards mailed, food in the fridge waiting (it's ham this year). I'm looking forward to a quiet day with just me and Jim. We'll spend some time on the phone with our kids and grandkids on Christmas Day, but no one is traveling this year. We are having nice weather...73 today for the high. Not too Christmasy but, hey, it's Florida! Just when my contest gp's were running low I got an email and over 30,000 gp's...winnings from a game I won almost a year ago that I and the contest owner had forgotten about. Wonderful windfall just when I needed it. My story, The Power of Love, that I wrote back in November and entered in What a Character did not win anything... ![]() until next time....c |
