I can't watch anymore...
the Gators are losing 22-7 to South Carolina due to many, many turnovers. It is too painful to watch anymore. Spurrier, South Carolina's coach, left Gainesville a few years back, coached professional ball awhile before ending up at South Carolina. It's ironic, the Gators have never lost to S.C. on their home field, and to Spurrier no less. Tomorrow will be a sad day for all Gators, I'm afraid.

I have one lone azealea bush in my backyard that is blooming like crazy. It must have the seasons mixed up or it has had some strange mutations. It is very beautiful when everything else is ebbing away and the butterflies are loving it. We are having a drought as well and the birds are flocking to the yard for water. I have dove, woodpeckers, blue jays, cardinals, finch, sparrows, wrens, mockingbirds, and bluebirds...lots of bluebirds. I have nesting boxes up for them and several have hatched out in our yard. It is so nice to sit in the swing on the backporch and watch their antics...and don't forget the squirrels. Mopsy is fascinated.

My birthday sunflowers are spreading out their petals and getting very big. If I had the right vase, they would look just like Van Gogh's. I have to fight Mopsy away from the foliage. Does anyone know of a good plant for kitties other than catnip. She will eat an entire catnip plant in a day with nothing left but the dirt and it doesn't seem to faze her. When I put out birdseed, I always drop some on the ground. She loves the tender little grass that grows up from the dropped seed. I break it off and bring it in to her. Sometimes she will eat clover and sometimes she will eat dandelion greens, but not always. I'd like to find a nice big plant that was safe and let her go at it.

Last night I called one of the old friends who contacted me on F.B. yesterday. We had a wonderful catching up chat. She said she had been searching for me forever (I am originally from Delaware). It was so nice to hear a "Delaware accent" and find out some of the things that have been happending there in the last thirty years...makes me homesick. We moved down here to be near Jim's family after all my family passed away. I didn't realize how much I would miss old friends. Even though you make new ones, nothing can replace growing up friends.

Leaving with good memories to dream about...till next time....c
