Watching the race yesterday....
I watched the Breeder's Cup Classic yesterday with the renowned Zenyatta. It's the first horserace I've watched since Barbaro had his accident in the Preakness in 2006. Zenyatta is such a showman, she was followed all through the paddock area as she was being led in, goose-stepping, pawing the ground, hanging her head down pretending to be so shy. Everyone loves her. What a huge horse, over 1200 pounds and 17 hands and a filly....wow. She lost the race by about a head but what a race she ran, coming from several lengths behind the last horse to place second This would have been her 20th straight win had she won. It was her last race as she is being retired at six years old and having won over six million dollars. May the grass be sweet and the retirement happy, Zenyatta, you've earned it.

My walk was great today, a crisp breeze and radiant sunshine. I heard all kinds of tunes in my head without my ipod. It was beautiful.

Since it's getting chilly, I have pulled out my knitting to start a hat in another color. I have the easiest pattern and one that is guaranteed to fit...http://www.crazyauntpurl.com/archives/2005/06/easy_rollbrim_k_1.php One hat can be finished easily in an evening.

I am having a very enjoyable time reading other people's blogs. What a diverse group of writers we have here on wdc. I feel so lucky to have found this site and to be a part of it.

Until next time......c
