chilly, nilly this morning...

It is cold here this morning...first time for our heat to be on. Mopsy can't figure out what is going on, why the porch door is not open. I moved some plants in the porch and she is chomping at the bit to investigate. She even crawled under the covers with me last night for a little while.

I made a yummy pumpkin pie yesterday, practice for Thanksgiving. It smelled so good and the heat from the oven wasn't bad either.

I was just feeling good about having all my doctor and hospital bills paid off last month, then the property tax bill came yesterday. Then my primary care doctor's office called yesterday to remind me of an appointment on Tuesday...checkup. I cancelled it. I'm feeling fine and see no reason to add insult to injury. After the first of the year, I may reschedule. In my 2011 Medicare booklet it says "wellness checkups" are completely paid for starting in January...yeah! What I really need to do is lose some weight and get back to walking daily...only I can do that. The weather is perfect for it.

I have new pics of my grandkids posted in my image folder...if anyone is interested. They are so grown up...hard to believe. I will be 66 in a few days. That is hard to believe too. I think about my mom who passed away in 1975 at age 49. She had lung cancer. Life is not fair. She was a way better person than I am, never even got to see her great grandkids. Seemingly small decisions, like smoking, can have such far reaching consequences. I can only imagine what life would have been like with her to share it with. I miss her....
