Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Every so often something comes over me and I must move furniture around. Today was the day. Luckily, I chose a small room, the office, but it did entail some heavy lifting for an old codger of almost 66. There's a tv, a desk, a couple of chairs on rollers (easy), a drawing board, the computer on a rolling computer desk, and the biggie, a barrel-shaped swivel chair. Of course, it was this chair that I wanted to move from its current corner to the opposite corner, diagonally. I just shuffled the rest a little to the left to accommodate it. The problem is that I am a packrat. Too many things are cute, too good to throw away, or the old "I might need it later." I had to go through all the papers I had stashed in stacking file trays, all the junk on the desk, and all the little nooks and crannies of the sliding shelves in the computer desk and discard the real trash. I even found a few things I had been looking for and thought I had thrown away. Now that I am finished, everything looks so nice and new and clean, I hope to be inspired to write...except that my back hurts and I am soooo tired, but when tomorrow comes, I know I will have fresh ideas. Rearranging a room and seeing it differently undoubtedly affects the right side of the brain.... Until tomorrow.....c |
