| I'm walking down a path on a tropical island, it's a hot and humid day. I look out to my left through a break in the foliage, I can see an inviting sandy beach. I walk onto the beach. I can see the mainland across the calm blue water, it can't be more than a quarter mile away. I take off my clothes and walk towards the water's edge, preparing to swim across. A man approaches from my right, stops me in my tracks: "You can't go in the water now, you must let the trees go first!" I stand there, not sure of what he is saying. Then I see what is happening with the trees around me. They are pulling up their roots, and they all start rushing onto the beach. One after the other they are diving into the water and heading towards the mainland, using their branches like arms to swim across... |
