Realisation

As I lay here alone
You enter the darkness of my heart
You cloud my mind
And invade my thoughts
Visions of you appear before me
Tears well in my eyes as
I reach out my hand
And try to touch you
You don't respond -
As your vision moves further away
Your voice reaches my ears
My name I hear in the whisper
Of your sweet voice.
I reach out my hand once more
You look at it hesitantly
Deciding...
Do you love me?
As I search your face
For the answer
Your hand raises slowly
As you hesitate once more
You've touched my heart
Yet hesitate to let me into yours
As I plead with you
Let me enter the darkness of your heart
To brighten it up with the love
I want to give you
You place your hand in mine
And I know I've reached you.
Then in an instant you disappear
The sobs form in my throat
As I begin to cry
Then as the tears begin to fall
I feel something warm
As I wake from my dream
To find you looking at me
With such love
Your arms around me
Your kisses soothing me
As I realise just how much
I love you.
