A poem a day, for 21 days..... |
The Spring Serenade is about to begin Come to the pond by the village wall Or sit on your porch, or the hammock swing, It won’t make a bit of difference at all. When it’s half past dusk And the air hints of cool, That’s the time they start singing, As a rule. An army of peepers is in fine voice tonight, And the chorus frogs chime in to my delight. The peepers don’t always Cling tight to their trees, So if you go for a stroll, Bring your umbrella please- Just so you shouldn’t Have frogs land on your head, Or slip down your back- And watch where you tread! The volumes rises As they sing en mass Their paean to nature- Of pond and grass. Full compliment tonight A complete froggy caucus- What? I can’t hear you With all of this raucous! Prompt for March14th (Must be posted by 10 PM) Subject: Small Town Raucous Word(s) to use: umbrella Word(s) not to use: town, farm, barn, cow, car(s), tractor(s), race(ing), rain, clouds |
