Strained through lenses
demanding perfection.
Strained through prejudices
permitting only certain conduct,
punishing the rest.
We are examined, weighed and judged.
In the balance
one definition matters most,
… theirs …

If we do not meet their standards,
designated damaged or impure,
will we be discarded and denounced?

Listen to their motto:
“Purify thyself or die!”

Listen well, but,
dare not ask the question:
… why …?
