“Sideways will get you there,”
said Mr Crab,
“Destination will let you where
you desire to grab
another location,
or maybe vocation -
motivation is scrupulously fair.”

“I’d prefer not to sidle,”
said Suetonius the squid,
“In fact I won’t bridle
(though I’m tempted to skid)
my backward aspiration -
it would be abdication
to defer to just anyone’s idol.”
