Well I lost about sixty words by getting curious about what the new post on the newsfeed was. That sucks. They were about me thinking about writing an entry for the search for the wdc heartthrob poet. It the prompt is free verse but it requires no less than twenty stanzas. Stanzas as in groups of lines in poetry. I suck at long form poetry my usual poem length is around twelve lines, at most around twenty. Lines not stanzas. So I am not going to do it. I entered one year. I believe it was the year that it was a shape poem. I did not win. I won a couple of oriental poetry contest runs but it is not running anymore beyond that I have not won anything with my poetry. I don't do many poetry contests. I am thinking about writing a one star poem for the cupid slam. But i do not know what the specifics are for that contest. As long as it is not too long a line requirement, I might give it a try.

Four hundred and twenty words still needed and I have exhausted my topics for today. I can not think of anything else to write so let's check out the writing dot com prompt generator.

but first i am so glad we have auto save in the edit window now. I lost everything I wrote in the window for the second time today by going to grab a prompt. I remembered the auto save and restored and bingo I only lost three words not over two hundred. I need to remember to save the entry before leaving this screen so I am not dependent on the autosave but. Dumb writer here.

back to our prompt

The electricity is out and the door to the windowless room is locked from the outside. The temperature is dropping fast...

How is the temperature dropping if there is no electricity? I guess it is not a freezer because then the temperature would not be dropping without electricity. I guess this is an uninsulated room in a cold climate. The thing that gets me is that it feels like this room should be somewhere in the middle of a building and therefore not exposed to the cold. Also how cold would it need to be outside to bring the temperature down in the room fast? Below zero?

Enough of that prompt. New one please.

When you enter the restaurant, the waiter tells you: "Sorry. We only serve those who come in here in groups of nine."

What kind of restaurant is that? It makes me think of the way they put you in roller coasters and other rides with strangers to keep the machines balanced. So you would just have to wait outside until a group of nine individuals or smaller groups came together then you would go in like that. What would the restaurant serve that it only took groups of nine? It makes me think of those asian restaurants that do large multi course meals, or hot pots or things like that. I do not know why I only think of it as asian restaurants. Maybe because western restaurants tend to be less service oriented. They only want to have to bring at most three courses. They are just lazier and nowhere near as classy. Going out to a good asian restaurant is an experience. There is the decor, the food, the way there is a turntable in the middle of the table so everyone can sample everything without having to play pass the plate, even getting your leftovers packaged is an event. Aluminum swans anyone? I suppose there are western restaurants that are like that, but they are waaaay out of my price range.
