| An earthquake is about to start But for it I have not the heart The trees will not stay still today The children won't go out to play And now there comes a shudder, shaking Distant sounds of dishes breaking Car alarms aloud resound I hear the barking of a hound The earth splits open, so I think As grass and trees begin to sink Then all at once, the tremors cease I look around at newfound peace It's nice to rest — but I digress I really must clean up this mess Prompt: Tremor Write in couplets |
