pumpkin sitting on the rail
grinning a Halloween fail
two weeks old now quite frail
with one swat watch it sail

cat sitting on the rail
grinning at the pumpkin's tale
a proud and preening male
licking at his tail

fog covering the rail
dim in the moonlight pale
cat obscured as though in jail
fog broken by ghostly wail
