Happiness
Prompts day 4: Story to include the word "happiness"

“Wendy, would you rather be happy or scared?”

“Happiness is overrated,” she scoffed, walking away.

Anna wanted to teach her bestie a lesson.

She hung plastic spiders from the ceiling, draped black velvet curtains across the walls. Everything was as dark, creepy and unsettling as possible, complete with low cello music echoing from an antique gramophone in the corner.

Anna snuck up behind Wendy, threw a blanket around her, and swept her into a smothering hug. She hauled her bewildered friend to the party room and unveiled her.

“So, is happiness still overrated?”

Wendy smirked.

“Those spiders should be real.”

Words: 100.
