Day 51 Washington DC

We boarded the plane to Washington, DC. Security went well. The plane ride. We watched a movie Titanic. My favorite movie outside of Twilight Saga. We were served chicken dinner. We made it to Washington DC. I wonder if we will see Murphy Brown.

I lived in Maryland right next to Washington DC with my parents. JFK was President and then Johnson. I have some memories. The Vietnam War was gone on. I was ten and had wished I had been older so I could join in on Protest Marches. I loved The Beatles, Barbie and wore Go Go Boots. Dad was shipped off to Vietnam. Okay. Back to our trip.

We went to our hotel rooms. They were light pink and roses wallpaper on the walls. Neat.

We went to The Smithsonian Museum. I remember this place from when my parents and I lived here when Dad was in the Air Force. This museum is 10 stories high. The giant elephant at the door. Jellyfish said he looked real. I remember this elephant from 1963. I think he made a noise. We saw Thomas Jeffersons desk. The Wright Brothers Airplane StephBee said it was so cool. We saw a shark, the great white shark hanging from the ceiling. WakeUpAndLive yelled get me out of here. I was singing the Jaws theme. We saw the First Ladies Inugoratiin dresses. I love Jackie's dress. I remember seeing these dresses from years ago. I saw JFK when I was eight years ago getting off Air Force One. He was shot a year later. Sad. We saw the Hope Diamond. AmyJo-Moving day's soon here asked if I wanted to wear it. It brings bad luck. No thanks. I love necklaces but not that one. We saw the ruby red slippers. I started singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow. I almost cried. That song was played at Moms funeral. Lyn's a Witchy Woman put her arm around me and Krista and I went and looked at the Disney Castle. It is just a model but beautiful. We went and saw the R2D2 and C3PO outfits. We saw Apollo 13 replica rocket. Sung'manitu loved this. We saw a mannequin of Ameila Earhart by her plane. I wonder what happened to her. I was all excited to see Xena, the Warrior Princess costume. I love Xena. I wish I could kick butt like her. I want her sword. We saw Mister Rogers sweater and Howdy Doody. We saw the First US Flag and sang The Star Spangled Banner. This is a great museum.

We saw some African Art. Lyn's a Witchy Woman loved it. The group found it interesting.

That night, we saw The Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial all lit up. The Jefferson Memorial. Across the water, it is beautiful. The next day, we saw The Vietnam Memorial. Some more tears. Krista and I sing America, The Beautiful and The Star Spangled Banner. We still love America and see the flag by the Washington Monument. We all salute.I give the peace sign. I am wearing my peace, hippie beads.

In the daytime, we saw The White House and The Capitol. I hope our leaders and The President do right by all us fellow Americans.

So many memories for me. Seeing JFK in person. My father was a mechanic on an airplane and when JFK got shot, Air Force landed and Dad saw Jackie get off the plane. Watching the funeral on TV. Jackie, Caroline was so sad. Cute little Jon Jon saluted them casket. I couldn't understand why it happened. Caroline was my age. I have a postcard of JFK, Jackie and the children. I have a coloring book of Washington, DC. Seeing Grissom and Young in person. JFK is, well, was my favorite President.

We went to our hotel rooms and had seafood dinners. Chocolate cake and donuts. We went to the casinos. We all won money. What a great adventure.

We go home in a couple of days. I have enjoyed this trip. All 50 states. I will never forget this adventure.
