| When I was child I didn't have much Just clothes and some crayons and such But those crayons opened up worlds That danced on scrap paper and in my mind I saw the dragons as they flew through the air And the princess' long golden hair I swam with the sharks in deep water And cuddled chickens in baby doll clothes I colored the fields with rainbow flowers And made portraits of my dogs and my cats I drew my family and all of my imaginary friends The crayons and my imagination knew no end From that simple beginning in art I went on to paint and write and draw My imagination still covers the wide range Of fantasies, dressed in a child's believing hand |
