Forget the Election
Forget the Election

What about now? Our leader falls
upon the stage, an absent call,
is no one there? A mumbled phrase
oblivious to better days
when thoughts came ready, topical.

Don't want to get emotional,
there is concern, it's logical,
can't have our leader in a daze.
What about now?

Election is seasonal
let us be reasonable,
the spinning climate is a maze
and who's in charge of nowadays?
Joe is problematical.
What about now?
