| When this body, at last, is laid to rest, No more, in this world, will it walk among Strangers to glory, nor those I loved best, Lost to mem’ry and unknown to the young. Now silent in sleep, Death’s darkness imposed, Plucked from the waters of life’s flowing stream The shades now pulled down, my windows now closed, My soul sees and lives in eternal dreams. For what is a dream but a soul in flight? Weighted not by the corporeal bonds, Which are shed in the darkness of each night. Dreaming a world in which the soul belongs. So this freedom births imaginations, Dreams and schemes, our plans and destinations. Week # 41 DREAMS Poem should be inspired by the prompt/image in some way A minimum of 12 lines, no maximum There are no form requirements Your submission must be newly written for this week's prompt |
