Fifty two weeks, fifty two prompts, fifty two poems! |
The shadow of past poems Falls upon this one I don't feel like writing it I feel as if I'm done I've written two poems already With the theme 'shadow' One for a contest One to help when I was feeling low Shadow implies light blocked out I guess it could refer to a writer Whose muse is taking a nap Whose typing hands grow tighter Shadows big, shadows small Shadows short, shadows tall Shadows in front, shadows behind Shadows cruel, shadows kind Shadows with you all the time Echoing actions in mime Shadows above, shadows below shadows shrink, shadows grow It's so ironic, the lack of light Letting the imagination take flight A patch of dark giving a spark For prose or poetry, wistful or stark It's just something caused by physics Why does it inspire so many lyrics? Well, romance is a chemistry And its inspiration is no mystery! |
