All Hallows Eve

On All Hallows Eve
a creaking cottonwood tree
sheds it yellow leaves,
as the howl
of a werewolf reverberates
through the night.

On All Hallows Eve
the full haunting moon
shines down
on both land and sea,
while a spectral wind blows
across the planet.

At midnight,
on All Hallows Eve
the lights flicker
once,
twice,
thrice,
the electricity goes off,
and a blood curdling scream is heard.
