To Be a Child

To be a child
to be a fresh creation
to find wonder in everything
No tired resignation
to the workings of the world
unburdened by the desperation
of the human condition

To be a chance
A spark of inspiration
to open eyes to new perspectives
that lay a firm foundation
to build a better future
To light the fires of imagination
in human hearts

To be a child
is to be hope.
