| When socks can be made on machines run for pennies a day by people paid a few dollars per week and sold in bulky get-one-free bargain multi-pack bonus bags right there at the mall, then it isn’t economical to make your own to spend long hours knitting with expensive yarn mailed from Denmark or Turkey or Wisconsin, rendering tens of thousands of stitches each requiring precision of movement and skill to effect rescue when one of them is dropped, but I’ve learned saving a stitch in time saves my mind, soothes by design and thus, is well worth the price.
