Rainy Day
has 14 lines.
It is composed with eight syllables to each line.
The first half of the first line of each stanza “slides”
to the last half of the third line,
creating a unique poetic repetition.
The rhyme scheme may be “aabb ccdd eeff gg”
or “abab cdcd efef gg” or abba cddc effe gg"



Rainy Day

As the rain falls, the wind will blow
This is the reason birds fly low
They mingle with the butterflies
They are filling up the gray sky.

While on the ground green grass grows high
Making flowers as time goes by.
Bunnies forage in the tall grass,
And the trees blow gently at last.

Puppies wrestling, having some fun
Children playing chase on the run.
The sun peeps out from behind clouds
As the coyote lets out howls.

A beautiful day it’s become,
We see the beauty of the sun.
