PROMPT: September 26th - Write about a special place where you might go to meditate, unwind, de-stress, relax, or just be.

My Special Place

I

In the cooling silence of midnight,
I contemplate His words
looking for the subtleties of meaning
in each metaphor and simile.

Alone
and undistracted
by the mundane joys and sorrows
of the day,
I attempt to find the pearls
that lay concealed
in the ocean of His words.

II

Ablutions performed
and prayer beads in hand,
I face Bahji--
the burial place of my Lord--
and intone the Greatest Name.

III

My special place
depends upon the time of day
and the need to unstress.

Exhale the stress,
inhale tranquility and peace,
and count one.

I can breath anywhere,
I can say a silent prayer anywhere,
I can close my eyes and meditate anywhere.

Focus
on the breath,
on the prayer,
on a favorite scripture,
and feel the presence of the Creator.
