An acrostic is a poem that spells a word or phrase using the beginning letter of each line. A haiku is a three-line poem composed of 5-7-5 syllables. In a Meriaku, all the words in a stanza begin with the same letter. Together the stanzas spell out a word or phrase. A Meriaku does not require a nature theme. The word spell out can be, but this is not a requirement, the title or subject/theme of the poem. |
