Rating a Contest Forum
How do you Rate, Review or Comment on a Contest

Many times, you have opened a contest item, taken a quick peek, and closed it. The title may have sparked your interest, or the description might have warranted a closer look. But as you take the moment in time to read what is there, you find it has no appeal at all. Now, did you rate it? Probably not, but if you did, where would you place it on the string of
*Star*’s? After all, it may not have tickled your fancy, but was it presented well? Was there something that, perhaps, if the host of the contest had known, might have made the contest more appealing to you?

Did you give it a
*Star**Star**Star**Star**Star*, just because it sounded like a great contest even if you had no intention of entering it?

Let’s look at the star system for a moment … we have 9
*Star*’s to choose from, and they range from *Star**Star* *Star* *Star* *Star* = perfect to *Star* = needs work. Now, keeping in mind that in the range of things, a *Star**Star**Star* is average. No rocket science there!

Now think for a moment, how often have you given a
*Star**Star**Star**Star**Star* rating to a contest for any one of the following reasons?
*Bullet* When the contest first opened, there was only one post from the host.
*Bullet* After you entered the contest.
*Bullet* Because it sounds like a great contest, and members will enjoy entering it.
*Bullet* Because it was presented well.

Or

Did you give it a
*Star**Star**Star**Star**Star* after you ensured all of the following had been done:
*Bullet* checked out the contest originally
*Bullet* entered it yourself
*Bullet* watched others enter
*Bullet* talked to each entrant to see if their item was rated
*Bullet* talked to each entrant to see if they received a comment
*Bullet* saw the posted results
*Bullet* checked with the winners to see if they got the right prizes

Because that would truly be a perfect contest that would warrant a
*Star**Star**Star**Star**Star* rating. But let’s be honest, are you going to take the time to do that? Certainly not, so realistically speaking, no one will ever have a true 5*Star* contest, because no one will take the time to ensure it was.

Rating a contest should be done with thought, and not a quick
*Star**Star**Star**Star**Star*. Take into consideration what it is you are rating and rate it appropriately.
