Widespread Anxiety About the World


Everyday
When I watch
the morning news
I am filled with dread
despair, and anxiety,

about the state
of the world
and my life,

Wondering what will become
of me in the coming years
Will I be able to cope
With the changing world?

Or will I be crushed
by the increasingly cruel
world we are creating.

Is there a world
left for me
in this cold, heartless
reality?
